Our in-house Media Hosting portal allows you to manage your media content safely and securely, right where you already manage your business!
Why use Media Hosting?
When activated, this service is built into your Empower Network back office.
As long as you have access to your Empower Network back office, you will also have access to the media you upload there.
This diminishes the need for an external hosting service, like YouTube.
Although YouTube is free, it also is trigger-happy when it comes to shutting accounts down. We have had several affiliates have issues with their YouTube account being shut down and deactivated – all those videos lost!
That, luckily, will never be the case with Empower Network’s in-house Media Hosting service.
Now that you have the wonderful benefits of Media Hosting, we’re sure you now want to use those benefits alongside Kalatu.
Today we are going to cover how you can share your videos in Media Hosting on your Kalatu blog.
Step 1: Activate Media Hosting
Of course, we know you will not get very far in this tutorial unless you have Media Hosting active on your account. Here is an easy way to check:
– Do you have Kalatu Premium? If you answer “Yes” to this question, then you have Media Hosting.
– If you have answered “No” to the question above, then go to your Kalatu dashboard and click Premium Media Hosting from the dashboard menu. If you are taken to a page with an upload button, then you have Media Hosting!
Go ahead and click Premium Media Hosting from your Kalatu dashboard menu so we can move on to the next step :)
Step 2: Upload Video Content
The next step is to actually have video or audio content uploaded into your Media Hosting portal.
To do this, you will need video files already recorded on your computer (if you don’t have any, get recording!)
As shown above, click the green Upload button from inside the Media Hosting service.
This will prompt you to browse your device for your video or audio file.
From here, you can title your upload and give it a description, although both are optional.
Step 3: Be Patient!
If you have a particularly large video file, the upload might take some time.
As stated as a warning message on the page, do not exit out of the screen until the upload is done.
Step 4: Adjust Settings
For the individual upload, you will have access to a summary of the video, basic settings (title/description), and privacy options.
You will want to be 100% sure that the Privacy Settings are set to Public. If the video is private, it will not be able to be shared anywhere.
As shown above, be sure that the answer to the question “Allow others to video this video?” is set to “Yes” if you wish to share your video.
Step #5: Get that Embeddable Code!
The tabs of the video settings are pretty easy to navigate – to get the embeddable video code, all you need to do is click the Get Embeddable Code tab.
From here, highlight the entire embed code, and copy it.
Step #6: Add Code to Your Blog
Now that you have the embed code copied, it is up to you to paste it where you want it to go in your blog!
To add the video to a blog post, simply toggle to the Text tab in a new post, paste the code, and voila!
You can also add the video code to a Text Widget, so that the video displays in your sidebar.
There are a ton of things you can do!
What will you be doing with your fantastic video creations?
We’d love to hear from you!
