InstaBuilder is by far one of our Support Team’s favorite tools in Kalatu Premium.

It’s easy to use, with its drag-and-drop technology, and even makes page building FUN!

One of the coolest features (in our humble opinion) that InstaBuilder offers is the ability to host a live webcast or webinar on an InstaBuilder page.

We have found a super simple way to do this in InstaBuilder and Google Hangout, and we’re about to share the step-by-step instructions with you…

But first?

First, we wanted to give you 5 interesting ideas for webcast topics :)

5 Creative Prompts For Your Next Live Webcast

Part of the online marketing culture today involves live web events, like webcasts. These are videos that are streamed LIVE to an audience watching you on the page.

Here are 5 ideas for topics for your next (or first) live webcast…

1. Live Interview

Some of the top industry leaders leverage this strategy in live web events all the time.

Whether the interview is with an industry expert, or the newest member on your team, interviews are a great way to drive engagement on a webcast platform.

By interviewing others in the field, it shows that you are active in your business and community. Interviews can also position you as an authority to your audience, since YOU have the power and control in the interview, as you are the one driving the conversation and asking the questions.

2. Award Show

Host an “award show” on your live webcast, where you recognize members on your team for certain actions.

Some ideas for recognition could be “Most Consistent Blogger”, “Most Leads in One Day”, or “Most Dedicated Teammate”. You could also take this as an opportunity to congratulate your team members on upgrading their membership, going ALL IN, or joining for the first time!

3. Behind-The-Scenes Series

Once you start building a solid audience, curiosity about what goes on “behind the scenes” in your life will inevitably start to grow.

Think about some “behind the curtain” things that YOU would want to see from your mentor or an industry leader. Here are some of our ideas…

  • A typical “day off” – What do you do? Spend time with your family? Exercise?
  • 3 things you do DAILY – Either for your business or for yourself.
  • Office tour – Tour of your home office, the tools you use, etc.
  • Meet the kids – Introduce your family, pets, etc.

The possibilities are endless!

4. “Lightning Round” Q&A Session

Q&A format webcasts are extremely effective because your attendees get excited over their voice being heard. Your webcast takes on a cooperative and personalized feel when the viewer knows they will play a role in it.

Take the standard Q&A session and turn it up a notch with a “lightning round”.

This simply means that you are answering questions quickly in order to get through as many questions as possible.

5. Product Demonstration

This is a tried-and-true webcast topic that fits perfectly into the Empower Network opportunity.

Our flagship (and top-selling) product, Kalatu, is perfect to use for a product demo.

Turn your Google Hangout to screenshare, and demonstrate what this product can do for your viewers.

A product demo would also be great if you are promoting other network marketing products.

Host a LIVE Webcast with InstaBuilder + Google Hangout

Hosting a live webcast is super easy with InstaBuilder, and we’ll show you exactly how you can set one up!

Note: InstaBuilder integrates with GoToMeeting, but we found this process WAY too cumbersome, awkward, and time-consuming.

Remember, InstaBuilder is exclusive to Kalatu Premium members only. If you want to upgrade to Kalatu Premium, you can do so from the home page of your Kalatu dashboard.

Step #1: Create an InstaBuilder Page for Your Webcast

The first step in this process is to create and design a page in InstaBuilder.

You can access InstaBuilder under the Plugins & Applications menu in your Kalatu dashboard.

If you need assistance with the basic tools and features of InstaBuilder, please refer to InstaBuilder Tutorials 1 & 2 in the Tutorials section of your Kalatu dashboard.

We recommend selecting an IB template with a video element already on the page.

Googel Apps

Step #2: Set Up a Google Hangout On Air

1. If you have a Gmail account already, then you’re already halfway there! If not, you can sign up for an account here.

2. Once you are logged into your Gmail account, locate the grid icon in the upper right corner of your inbox, and select Google+ icon from the menu, shown to the right.

This will take you to your Google+ page.

If you have not already set up your Google+ account, there may be various dialog boxes that pop up. It is up to you if you want to take the time to set this up – it is not required to continue forward to set up a Google Hangout On Air.

3. Once you are through those screens, look to the LEFT and locate the drop-down menu that looks like the one shown below. Select Hangouts from this menu.

4. On the Google Hangouts page, you will want to toggle over to Hangouts On Air, as shown in the screenshot below.

Hangouts on Air

5. Once you click the Create a Hangout On Air button, the window shown below will appear.

  • Name – Since you are embedding this Hangout into an InstaBuilder page, the name will really only be for your own needs.
  • Description – Just like your webcast name, this will not be visible on your webcast page.
  • Start time – If you have a set time for the webcast to begin, select it. If you are hosting the webcast immediately, then select Now.
  • Audience – “Public” will allow the Hangout On Air to broadcast publicly to your YouTube channel. If this is a private webcast or invite-only webcast, then do not select Public. What we do is remove Public, and then add our own email address. Don’t worry, you don’t have to invite attendees for them to be able to access the webcast on the InstaBuilder page you created.

Hangout Setup

Your Hangout On Air is now all prepared!

Your Hangout will not start until you click the Blue START button on your Google Hangout event page (shown in the image in Step #3), and then the Start Broadcast button on the actual Hangout screen, so don’t worry!

Step #3: Embed Hangout On Air in InstaBuilder Page

The final step of this process simply involves you taking the YouTube Page URL for the Google Hangout, and connecting it to the webcast page you built in InstaBuilder.

1. As illustrated below, click on the Links icon on the right side of your Hangout event page, then Copy the YouTube page URL.

Copy Embed Code
2. Return to the InstaBuilder editor where your webcast page is open. Double-click on the Video Element, and then click the Cog icon (shown below).

Click on the Cog

3. A panel will expand to the right, as it always does when the Cog is clicked in InstaBuilder.

YouTube URLFor Video Type, make sure YouTube is selected.

For YouTube Video URL, Paste the URL you just copied from your Hangout event page.

The rest of the options in this panel will be up to your choice…

Do you want your webcast to play automatically on the page? If you do, check the Autoplay box.

Do you want your audience to be able to fast forward/pause/rewind the webcast? If you don’t, then be sure to check Disable Controls.

(OPTIONAL) Step #4: Enable Facebook Comments

A great way to drive engagement and a community feel in a live webcast setting is to have a comment platform for viewers to interact on.

InstaBuilder easily integrates with Facebook Comments.

The first thing you should do is create a Facebook Developer account and get an App ID.

Watch the FIRST video (Facebook Comments) in this blog post from :20 – 1:15. This segment of the video will show you exactly how to get an App ID for Facebook.

This App ID is used to connect your Facebook developer account to the Comment Element that you will be adding to your webcast page in InstaBuilder.

Important – If you already have a Facebook App ID, you don’t need another. You only need one, which can be used for multiple outlets.

Once you have your Facebook App ID, open InstaBuilder from the Plugins & Applications menu.

IB Settings

Select InstaBuilder Settings, as shown in the screenshot to the right.

On this page, you will see the fields to enter your Facebook App ID, and the App Secret. Both of these keys are provided in your Facebook developer account.

Comment ElementSave your changes.

Once that is complete, you can freely add the Comment Element to any InstaBuilder page, and viewers of your webcast or visitors on your page will be able to comment using their Facebook login!

Inside the InstaBuilder editor, simply drag the Comment Element (shown left) to the area you want it to appear on your page.

And that’s all there is to it!

Now it is up to you to advertise and promote your webcast so you have viewers!

Will you be using this tutorial to host your own webcast?

Tell us in the comments below this blog post!
